Just mix sanitized water and
IPA in equal parts (1:1) in bottle of spray. Any utilized household cleaning
bottles will good for this, but make sure that you wash with sterilized water.
Be alert that water has dissolved minerals and salts that scratch on monitor so
do not rinse. IPA is unlike ethyl based alcohols like drinkable spirits. Do not
attempt and substitute IPA for spirits, as non-IPA alcohols harm screen
surface. You must buy IPA in 70% concentration in few electronic specialist
stores. If you are able to get 99% IPA it’s probable to dilute it to concentration;
which IPA you get, then evaporates readily; do not buy simultanously, also
ensure bottle is sealed and kept in cool place.
You must require microfiber
cloth with distilled water and IPA solution. TFT screens are less resilient
than glass screens. Also to being soft, microfibre clothes also hold in dust
and dirt. Turn off the monitor and cool it; CCFL backlit in particular turns quite hot after use,
and it cause solution to evaporate quickly for cleaning. Apply solution to micro
fibre cloth to remove dust. Softly rub down and up covering no more than some
inches of screen surface. You may even find it helps to apply pressure on down to
prevent smearing but applying extra pressure on screen can damage pixels and screen
itself is soft.
Entire clean must take no
less than 5 minutes for small screen and arm get tired if you reach over desk. Detach
stand of monitor after unplugging monitor and put it on soft surface for comfortable
clean. TFT cleaning solution is suitable for monitor, so use it. After cleaning
with the solution some residue will remain but the best thing is rubbing
alcohol and distilled water. If there is no dust then apply more solution to cloth
and do cleaning. Now feel the
cleanliness and clear image from PC monitor.
