BURJ KHALIFA

Burj khalifa as on date is the world’s tallest tower.It is 1815 metres(2684 ft) high and pips all its nearest rivals,including the 101-storey high Taipei tower in Taiwan.

This looks like a virtual city.It has luxury apartment and a hotel, built at a cost of $ 1.5 billion with each floor costing $ 9 million.The tower will have 1,044 apartments and 49 floors of office service by 57 high-speed lifts.the work on the world’s new tallest building was started in 2004 and new floors were being added almost everxday .at the peaj of construction ,around 12000 worker were involved

Buqj khalifa was completed in 1325 days (3 year 230 days )after excavation work started in 2004 and took 22 million man hours to complete construction.The tower consists of 330,000 cubic meters of concrete,39,000 m/t of reinforced steel 103,000 square metre s of glasr and 15,500 square metres of embossed stainless steel.

# It has a total built-up area of 5.67 million square feet(526,760 square metres) out of which 1.85 million square feet(171,870 squre metres) is residential and 300,000 square feet(27,870 squar metres) is office space.

# The building is covered by 24,348 cladding panels to help it withstand the UAE’s summer heat.
