Alexandria is located right on Interstate 94, only 131 miles west of Minneapolis or 100 miles east of Fargo, ND. It is easy to find but heard to leave! Alexandria is great to visit no matter what season you decide to go. If you come in the summer you will find a great resort town that will allow you to experience some great lake time. Alexandria has over 370 lakes in the area, so finding some water won’t be a problem. These lakes will allow you to do some swimming, boating, water skiing, tubing, and just some great relaxing in the sun. Summer is a great time to visit Alexandria, especially if you want enjoy some time on the water. The winter season allows you to enjoy some great ice fishing, snowmobiling, and skiing. Alexandria truly has something to offer you year round so definitely consider this as a great vacation destination.

Another great little resort town to visit is Detroit Lakes. Detroit Lakes is a summer haven! People flock to this area in the summer to take advantage of the great lakes that are in the area.
